Biography
 Héctor Quintana (1989), born in Havana, Cuba, is a guitarist, composer, arranger and teacher graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. Current projects

  • Jack Jack Trio: It is a trio integrated by Organ (which includes bass) a Drums and Guitar. The idea is to take the classic formation of this trio to the rhythms and genres more Latin, but always with influences of Jazz, Funk and Blues.

  • Guitar a la Cubana: It is a quartet of piano, guitar, double bass and drums whose essence is to highlight the role of the electric guitar in Latin and Cuban genres.

  • Benny Moré a century later: It is a project with Bigband Reduced format that brings the songs popularized by Benny Moré, with the interesting mix of the musical elements of the 50's and the arrangements and interpretations of today, that's why the title Benny Moré a century later.

  Among the collaborations he has made and artists with whom he has shared the stage are musicians such as: Horacio el Negro, Mark Whitfield, Ernan Lopez Nussa, Alain Perez, Maria del Mar Bonet, Joe Lovano, Al Jarreau, Roberto Fonseca, Arturo Ofarrilll, Jonh Stowell,Kurt Rosenwinkel, Reginald Policard entre otros muchos

Awards and nominations

  • 1st Prize at the National Classical Guitar Competition. Musicalia (2007).
  • 1st Prize at the International Jojazz Competition (2011).
  • 2nd Prize at the International Jazz Competition. Montreaux (2015).
  • Cubadisco Special Prize for the album Animal de Galaxia.
