The South American tour includes performances at some of the continent's most prestigious jazz clubs. On February 26, the group will delight Carioca audiences at the iconic Blue Note Rio. They will then perform at the renowned Bebop Club in Buenos Aires for two consecutive nights, on February 28 and March 1, where they will fuse their African rhythms with elements of local tango. On March 2 at the Blue Note São Paulo, completing their Brazilian tour.
“This tour represents a cultural bridge between Africa and Latin America, we have found deep musical connections that transcend geographical boundaries.”
The concerts will feature material from their acclaimed album “Hands of Time”, as well as new compositions inspired by the rhythms and musical traditions of the countries visited. The ensemble, which includes world-class musicians, has given master classes at various conservatories and cultural centers, sharing their knowledge of West African percussive traditions.
The tour is especially significant as it is the first time the ensemble has performed such an extensive series of shows in the region, consolidating its presence in the Latin American music scene and opening new possibilities for future collaborations. The performances in these prestigious jazz venues mark a milestone in the group's career and strengthen the musical ties between Africa and South America.
