PATÁX is a Spanish musical group led by Jorge Pérez that fuses flamenco, jazz and Afro-Cuban music to create innovative reinterpretations.
The project was born in Madrid around 2010 and has stood out for its versions of classics by artists such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder, combining traditional flamenco elements with Latin rhythms and jazz harmonies. Their distinctive sound and sophisticated arrangements have earned them international recognition, with performances at major festivals and the release of several albums demonstrating their creativity and musical versatility.
Today, PATAX, one of the most internationally recognised fusion bands, are the freshest, most surprising and cosmopolitan expression of Jazz fusion with flamenco and Afro-Cuban ingredients.
Drawing from the legacy of Jazz legends such as Weather Report, Corea's Elektric Band, Herbie Hancock, or Zawinul Syndicate, and without hiding the powerful influence of the visionary proposals of Irakere, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Enrique Morente, Snarky Puppy, Sixun and Paco de Lucía, PATAX takes the concept of ‘Fusion’ to a completely unexplored territory, where their unique way of mixing Flamenco, Funk, jazz and Afro-Cuban folklore, together with the virtuosity of its members, produces an explosive, surprising and magical result that has found followers all over the planet.
